The colors shown on timesofindia website are wrong. They just copied last year’s colors. The colors shown on our website are correct. We are based out of Mumbai and this where the color tradition started. So we know we are posting the right colors :)

This is the most authentic list. The sequence of colors are determined by the week day on which navratri starts. This year Navratri starts on 10th October which is a Wednesday. Wednesday is always associated with color Royal Blue and the rest of the colors follow the sequence in a fixed order.

During Navratri, 9 forms of goddess durga are worshiped in each of the 9 days. Each of the forms of the goddess has one unique color associated. The goddess is adorned with that color on that day.
The sequence of colors are determined by the week day on which navratri starts. This year Navratri starts on 21st September which is a Thursday. Thursday is always associated with color Yellow and the rest of the colors follow the sequence in a fixed order.

It is true that various people give a list of different colors to wear on Navratri. However, we did a lot of research before publishing the list of colours for Navratri 2017. We consulted learned pandits and astrologers and came up with this list. Here are the colours to wear for this Navratri –
      Day 1 – 21 September 2017 – Yellow
      Day 2 – 22 September 2017 – Green
      Day 3 – 23 September 2017 – Gray
