Char dham yatra is done in a clockwise direction starting from Yamunotri and ending in Badrinath. However, one should first take a bath in Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar before starting the Yatra. The sequence is Haridwar – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Ukhimath – Kedarnath – Joshimath – Badrinath – Haridwar.

How to do Char Dham Yatra?

Dehradun is the nearest airport and the nearest railway station followed by Rishikesh. After reaching Dehradun, one can travel to all the four temples via road. Due to the shortage of state transport buses at higher altitudes, one can also hire a taxi or tour bus.
